In reply to Chelsea Stanford. We spent the first two or three nights near Budva and only drove to Kotor by car for a day trip to explore the old town & hop on a boat to Perast. It's only a 38 mins drive from Budva to Kotor so Budva is a great base for everything you're planning to explore near the coast. :)

In reply to Chelsea Stanford. Hey Chelsea, thank you for your kind words. We traveled to Montenegro together with a guide which drove us to all the locations. But normally we always have our own rental car which we usually hire via Sixt :)

I also want to visit each part you have suggested in your itinerary and will allow ourselves 7 nights – Budva, Sveti Stefan (maybe), Kotor, Perast, Porto Montenegro, Centinje, Biograd and Durmitor National Parks and Tara Canyon (all of which are beside each other it seems) – how many nights each would you spend Budva and Kotor? and I’m guessing everywhere else would be day trips? I’d love your suggestions 🙂 x

That sounds like a good plan with some amazing stops 🙂 I would just suggest to maybe plan some times up north in the mountains area – like Kolasin and visiting the Durmitor National Park.

My Wife and i would like to spend 12 days in Montenegro and stay along the coast, 4 days in each town or village.
Whilst there we would like to see the following:- Kotor, Budva, Sveti Stefan island (restaurant booking), Ostrog monastry,, Ulcinj, Perast, Cetinje. and other places that that you would recommend. We will mote than likely hire a car.
