Release your inner child & feel free! This is the motto of the newly opened C Mauritius Resort on the beautiful island of Mauritius in the Indian Ocean. Because who doesn’t feel like a child again with sun, sea and good mood?

We visited the resort shortly after it opened in the fall of 2022 and this is my hotel review of the C Mauritius!

My review of the C Mauritius Resort

When it gets chilly and uncomfortable here then summer is just beginning on Mauritius. The island is located not far from Madagascar, on the African east coast in the Indian Ocean. From Europe, you have to take a 10-11 hour flight, but the long journey is worth it: blue lagoons, green volcanic rock formations, white beaches and diverse underwater life with numerous whales and dolphins are awaiting you on Mauritius!

The C Mauritius Resort is located on the northern east coast of the island, on the white Palmar beach and therefore offers fantastic views of the rising sun in the morning.

The airport transfer is included for all guests and takes about 50-60 minutes. On the way, you already get a great insight into the island life of Mauritius.

The concept of C Mauritius

Come Play. Let Go. Feel free.

Just dangle your soul, let go of all worries and feel like a child again. At C Mauritius, both adults and children can completely immerse themselves in island life and enjoy the Mauritian way of life.

Three pools, a beautiful sandy beach, many activities and an all-round all-inclusive concept ensure that everyone gets their money’s worth here. No matter if relaxation or action is preferred.

As mentioned earlier, there are a total of three pools at C Mauritius Resort, all are overlooking the sea and offer a wide selection of sun loungers. While one of the pools – with a glass panel underwater – is more suitable for swimming and having fun, the atmosphere at another pools is rather calm and relaxed. Thus, everyone can find the right place to sunbathe.

The atmosphere is especially nice early in the morning, because all pools offer a great view of the sunrise – ideal for unforgettable photos!

The white sandy beach of Palmar Beach and the warm water are perfect for relaxing and swimming or for an adrenaline kick:

There are numerous activities offered such as kite surfing, beach volleyball or even yoga at sunrise. I found it cool that C Mauritius has a kite surf school, which means that even complete beginners, like me, can dive into this exciting sport. Even if surfing looks easy for the pros, it takes a lot of technique to control the kite.

A trip to Mauritius would not be complete without exploring the island. For this reason, C Mauritius offers a variety of excursions to explore the outside of the resort.

My highlights were the trip to Flacq Market – the local market, which is ideal for souvenir shopping and C-Trek. C-Trek is the name of the hike to the mountain “Le Pouce”, which offers incomparable views of the island. The bus takes you comfortably to the beginning of the trail, and then, together with a guide, you climb the 808 meters to the summit. Snacks and water are provided and an unforgettable feeling of freedom is guaranteed. For me, the C-Trek is one of the most beautiful things you must have done on Mauritius!

Also a verity of tours are being offered on the water. Starting with the “Sirius Experience”, where guests sail along the long beach in a sailboat, or a catamaran cruise to a lagoon for snorkeling. Mauritius’ water world has so much to offer.

At C Mauritius, complimentary shuttles are offered to the two golf courses of Constance Resorts – the sister brand of C Resorts. Mauritius is a paradise for golf lovers, which is why we couldn’t resist playing a round ourselves on the “Links Golf Course” at Constance Belle Mare Plage. Whether you’re a golf pro or, like me, a beginner, golfing here is super fun.

After eventful days on Mauritius, it is equally important while on vacation to simply do nothing! The large spa area is exactly the right place for this. It makes up a large part of the resort’s total area and features a large outdoor area with whirlpools and relaxation lounges. The treatment rooms are located in small beach huts and are very cozy. For pure relaxation, I highly recommend the oil massage – especially after the long flight to get there!

In the spa area is also the gym, yoga areas, as well as a sauna and steam room. So you are able to choose to spend a whole day here as well.

The rooms at C Mauritius

Deluxe Room

During our time at the C Mauritius, we slept in one of the Deluxe Rooms. The rooms are bright and nicely decorated. Everything is new and modern, but still has a casual “beach charm” that makes the room cozy. An open bathroom (which can be separated from the rest of the room if desired), a large comfy bed, and desk and sofa provide plenty of space. The highlight, however, is the balcony with sea view and sitting area. Here we sat in the evenings to let days come to a relaxed ending.

Unfortunately, we did not have a coffee maker in the room, only a kettle with tea and instant coffee, but the entire minibar, beer and wine included, was included and refilled daily. The South African white wine was extremely good!

Dining Room

The main restaurant ‘Dining Room’ serves breakfast, lunch and dinner buffet style. At each meal there are live cooking stations where fresh and individual dishes are prepared. The quality of the food was always very good. The selection was limited, but new every day, so it never got boring.

Also included in the all-inclusive concept is the Asian á la carte restaurant Wok’n’Roll with fresh sushi, dim sum and wok dishes. You have to reserve a seat in the evening, but at lunchtime you can order a variety of bento boxes at any time. The restaurant was my favorite at C Mauritius – especially the vegetarian sushi as well as the lemongrass creme brulee, were super good!

During the day, sweet and savory snacks can be enjoyed in the Cpicerie – there’s even a real pizza oven. We enjoyed having coffee and crepes here for the afternoon.

Good drinks or wine from the extensive wine cellar can be enjoyed at the bar. In the evenings there is usually live music, making it the ideal place to end the day. Wine tastings are also held – where we were able to taste some very fine drops!

Résumé of our stay at the C Mauritius

The C Mauritius is the ideal resort for both families and couples who want to enjoy the “all-inclusive package” while still receiving good quality. While some resorts on Mauritius are getting on in years, the C Mauritius is new, modern and yet very cozy. Also for friends traveling together, the resort is very suitable and appeals to every travel lover. Although the service could occasionally be a little faster and more careful, but if you are in paradise and hear the sound of the waves, it is easy to overlook. Certainly, the young team, so shortly after the opening, must first get used to the new work environment.

We had a great stay at C Mauritius, which was both eventful and relaxing – just the perfect mix! 🙂
